The Christmas Store: Seeking the Good of the City

For the past few years, a handful of local Lakewood churches, the City of Lakewood, and other area partners have collaborated to provide gifts for Lakewood families in need. This year, Parkside Church Westside is partnering with Prodigal Community, Cross Point Church, and the City of Lakewood to present The Christmas Store.

The Christmas Store offers both dignity and grace to parents during a very stress-filled time of year by providing a free shopping experience. Too often, parents are cut out of the gift-giving process by well-meaning, non-profit organizations who provide gifts to families in need, but leave out a shopping experience that also empowers parents.

Families who have been referred by the City of Lakewood and have completed the application process will receive a gift card to The Christmas Store. They can shop for gifts (for FREE) during store hours while enjoying an awesome shopping experience with music, coffee, snacks, and a gift-wrapping station.

How You Can Help

Volunteer to Serve

Grab a couple of friends and help staff The Christmas Store during one of the four days that it is open: Saturdays, December 3 & 10, 10am - 2pm; or, Wednesdays, December 7 & 14, 10am-2pm.

The store is located at 16300 Detroit Ave, Lakewood, OH 44107, near Trinity Lutheran Church across the street from Rite Aid. If you are interested, please contact Chris Salzer at , who is connected with Cross Point Church, and is coordinating the volunteers.

Help Us Shop for Gifts

Join us on November 28 at 6:30pm at the Panera Bread in Rocky River (19705 Center Ridge Rd, Rocky River, OH 44116) for a quick dinner and Christmas shopping at the nearby stores.

Our church leadership team has allocated financial resources to The Christmas Store from our annual budget which simply means that you do the shopping and we’ll pay for the gifts!
