Frequently Asked Questions
Below you will find some of our most frequently asked questions.
What should I wear to a church service?
We don't really have a dress code. On Sunday mornings, you'll see everything from jeans and t-shirts to suits and dresses. If you want to blend in, business casual works well.
What should I expect on my first visit?
A warm welcome. There is generally a greeter or two at the door, please let them know you’re a first-time visitor so they can explain where you need to go. We do not require first-time visitors to stand or introduce themselves during the service, but we encourage you to visit our welcome area, either before or after the service, where we can answer any questions you have, give you a tour, or sign you up for e-newsletter, The Insider.
What does "non-denominational" mean?
Parkside Church Westside is a non-denominational Christian church in the Evangelical Protestant tradition. "Non-denominational" means that we are not affiliated with a Protestant denomination such as the Methodists or the Episcopalians. We are an independent organization that is funded through the generosity of our congregation and that the decisions about how the church is run are made by our local leaders.
Where do I park?
There is a parking lot in front of, and behind, Garfield Middle School. You can enter into the building on Sunday mornings by using the front entrance near the flagpole or through the rear entrance into the gymnasium.
What ages do you provide child care for?
We've got a place that is safe and clean where your kids can learn and have fun! We provide kids programming from birth- 5th grade during the entire length of the Sunday service. Students that are in 6th grade and older will come to the service.
How do I know my kids are secure?
Our children's care workers are screened with background checks and approved by the church leadership team.
