This sermon invites us to “come and see” the resurrection as an honest confrontation with both our deepest fears and our greatest need. It shows that the cross reveals the true cost of sin, exposing what is broken within us, while the empty tomb declares that Jesus has overcome death in reality, not just symbol. The risen Jesus then meets his followers and leads them forward, turning the resurrection into a promise about their future as well as his victory. The message of Easter, therefore, is not to ignore our fears but to face them through Christ, who has dealt with sin, defeated death, and offers lasting hope to all who believe.
