Leading Servants of the Church

This sermon marked the installation of the church’s first deacons and deaconesses, highlighting the biblical foundation and importance of servant leadership. Drawing from 1 Timothy 3:1–13, the sermon explored the qualifications for both elders and deacons, emphasizing that spiritual maturity and character—not merely skill—are central to leadership in the church. Elders are called to exemplary character and the ability to teach, while deacons, both men and women, are recognized for their tested faithfulness and practical service. The newly installed deacons were honored not with titles, but as humble, “dust-raising” servants who exemplify Christlike care within the church. Rooted in the example of Jesus—the ultimate Servant King—the message affirmed that all Christians are called to serve, and that through service, the local church becomes a tangible expression of heaven touching earth.
