Matthew: The King and His Kingdom

The Death of Judas

This sermon contrasts Judas’s tragic end with the hope of true repentance. Judas feels deep remorse, confesses his sin, and even acknowledges Jesus’s innocence, yet his repentance stops halfway because he never turns to Jesus for mercy. His despair shows the difference between guilt that looks inward and repentance that runs to the Savior for forgiveness. The passage ultimately points to the gospel: while religious systems and human efforts cannot remove sin, Jesus is the true priest and sacrifice who receives every sinner who comes to him in repentance.
