The ascension also gives believers confidence about their future, because Jesus has already entered heaven in glorified humanity as the guarantee of the resurrection and renewed creation awaiting his people. Far from meaning absence, Christ’s ascension results in greater blessing, as he pours out the Holy Spirit and continues to sustain, guide, and remain present with his church.
