Serve With Us

Everyone Is Gifted and Needed

God has blessed each of us with gifts that help us reach out, build the Church, and be released to the ends of the earth. Whether it’s offering a warm welcome to a visitor as a part of the welcome team or serving with the community, it all matters.

Membership is not a requirement for serving in all areas within Parkside Church Westside, but it is for some. The form below provides a list of some of our routine or regular opportunities to serve.

Nursery & Children

Be part of a team as a teacher or helper that serves once a month with children from birth-5th grade. We provide all of the training and materials that you need. As part of our screening process a background check is required to serve in this area.

Students

Serving as an adult leader is a great way to connect with our student ministry for grades 6-12. Build relationships and help students become committed followers of Jesus Christ. As part of our screening process a background check is required to serve in this area.

Lakewood Home-delivered Meals

Help serve our local Lakewood community by volunteering to deliver hot lunches to home-bound Lakewood seniors. Volunteers deliver lunch as well as companionship to one of the most vulnerable and the most appreciative groups of people who can easily become socially isolated.

Meals Team

As a church family, we want to share in the joys and burdens of each other's lives and one way you can do that is by providing meals to Parkside Westside families in need. Sign up through the Meals Team group by logging into our online community to receive notifications about needs as they arise.

Media Team

Let us know if you've got experience running a sound board or can run slides during a Sunday service. We're also happy to train you if you're interested.

Music Team

If you are vocally or musically* gifted, then our Sunday morning music team may be the place for you to serve. We aren’t looking for performers, but for those who are able to stand up front and yet fall into the background as they lead.

*Guitar, Bass Guitar, Keyboard, Drums

Prayer Team

Our prayer team prays for people and the specific needs of our church. They receive regular emails that include matters for prayer and are part of our routine church prayer meetings.

Welcome Team

Greeters: These are the first people to say hello to those on a Sunday morning and help answer questions for those folks who are new to Westside. Greeter teams serve on a rotating basis.

Ushers: Our friendly ushers help out during the Sunday service by passing out printed materials and guiding people to a seat. Ushering teams serve on a rotating basis.

Coffee: Our coffee team volunteers help to set-up and clean-up our self-service coffee area in the lower level on Sunday mornings.

serve in the community

Building Hope In The CityVolunteers are always needed to aid in community programs to provide care for refugees and immigrants in the area. Their most significant need is for tutors to participate in their evening programs at The Hope Center and Halle School of Inquiry. Tutors are asked to simply attend a Building Hope 101 class and complete a background check. For a complete list of serving opportunities, please visit their website and reach out to BHITC directly to begin serving with them.

International Friendships, IncIf you're looking to connect with international students in Cleveland, there are a few opportunities to get involved with IFI. Welcome some students into your home for a progressive dinner party, hosted by IFI once per quarter. If you'd like venture out of Cleveland, there is a need for volunteers to accompany students on domestic trips to cities such as NYC, Niagara Falls, Chicago, or Washington D.C. Lastly, there is always a need for individuals to do one-on-one monthly meet-ups with a student for the purpose of relationship building. For more information about how you can get involved with IFI, please contact Jonathan Putnam.

Garden Christian Academy: There are plenty of opportunities to partner with Garden Christian Academy in their mission to provide classical, Christ-centered education to children in the Cleveland area. In addition to helping out with regular programs at the school, there is a need for volunteers to help GCA begin  a garden that will not only be cultivated by the students, but will provide them with healthy meals throughout the year. Please stop by their website or sign-up for their newsletter to stay up-to-date on their current needs and opportunities.
