About Us

We are...

We are a non-denominational, Bible-teaching church plant in partnership with Parkside Church in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Parkside began in 1968 as a small group of people, committed to the preaching and teaching of God’s Word, who met weekly for prayer and Bible study on Cleveland’s East Side. This devoted group faithfully served Christ and set in place the convictions upon which the church is built. God has blessed the people of Parkside in numerous ways, most notably through the expansion of ministries which has been an answer to collective prayer of seeing unbelieving people become committed followers of Jesus Christ.

Parkside's leadership team has prayerfully discussed the desire to plant additional locations that would eventually become independent Bible-teaching churches that share our same conviction and confidence in the authority and sufficiency of God’s Word in all levels of ministry. God has guided our regional presence in Northeast Ohio with the addition of Parkside Church Green Campus (2009) and Shoreline Church (2012). Most recently, Parkside is in the process of planting an east side location, Parkside Heights (2021).

The vision for an increased regional gospel influence within Northeast Ohio continues to unfold with the establishment of Parkside Church Westside (2015), and it is with great anticipation that we believe the best is yet to come...

We Desire...

We desire to see the Holy Spirit bring together people from our community and beyond who are diverse in age, ethnicity, and economic background, but are united through the saving grace of Jesus Christ and committed to praising God the Father forever.

We Are Here...

We are here to glorify God by helping people become committed followers of Jesus Christ.

What Is Most Important to Us...

THE BIBLE

We are confident that God's Word is central, authoritative, powerful, and sufficient to help people flourish as they come to faith and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

GENUINE RELATIONSHIPS

We are dedicated to sharing life in smaller groups in order to prayerfully help one another become committed followers of Jesus Christ by using our God-given gifts to build up one another.

LIFE CHANGE

We are convinced that through God's Spirit and our grace-empowered effort, we can make progress in turning away from the brokenness of sin and be transformed into people who love God and love one another.

DAILY MISSION

We will be diligent to align ourselves with God's standards in the everyday events of life in order that we may live godly lives, being ready to share the good news of Jesus Christ with people in our community.

Statement of Faith

TRIUNE GOD

We believe that God is the creator and sustainer of all things and that he exists eternally in three coequal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

HOLY SCRIPTURE

We believe that God has spoken and continues to speak in and through Scripture, which is inerrant and the only infallible and sufficiently clear rule and authority for Christian faith, thought, and life.

HUMAN BEINGS

We believe that God created human beings, male and female, in his own image and likeness. Gender is thus given by God and part of the goodness of God՚s creation. Accordingly, all men, women, and children have been graciously bestowed with inherent dignity, and every person of every race is thus worthy of respect and Christian love.

FALLENESS

We believe that the original goodness of creation and the human creature has been corrupted by sin and is subject to divine judgment and death. The supreme need of all human beings is to be reconciled to the God under whose just and holy wrath we stand; the only hope of all human beings is the undeserved love of this same God, who alone can rescue us and restore us to himself.

JESUS CHRIST

We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the eternal Son of God, who became human for us and for our salvation, born of the virgin Mary, the Son of David and servant of the house of Israel, one person with two natures, truly God and truly man, the only mediator between God and humanity. He lived a fully human life, having entered into the disorder and brokenness of fallen existence, yet without sin.

THE ATONING WORK OF CHRIST

We believe that God, who is rich in mercy toward the undeserving, has made atonement for human rebellion, corruption, and guilt in the gift of Jesus՚ once-for-all sufficient and sacrificial death on the cross. By his perfect and willing sacrifice, he bore in our place the punishment due us for our sins, making a proper, real, and full satisfaction to God՚s justice on our behalf.

THE GOSPEL

We believe that the gospel is the good news that the triune God has poured out his grace in the life, death, resurrection, and ascension of the Lord Jesus Christ, that human beings might be reconciled to God. This good news is in accordance with the Scriptures, and it was entrusted to and passed on by the apostles. Where it is received, believed, and held firmly, individual persons are saved.

THE PERSON AND WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, the unseen yet active personal presence of God in the world, who unites believers to Christ, regenerating them, making them new creatures, and adopting them into God՚s family. By the Spirit՚s agency, believers are renewed and sanctified and receive his sovereignly distributed gifts.

THE CHURCH

We believe that the one, holy, catholic (universal), and apostolic church is the first fruit of the new creation, the whole assembly of the redeemed through the ages, of which Christ is Lord and head. This universal church is manifest in local churches. The local church exists visibly wherever two or three gather in his name to proclaim and spread the gospel in word and works of love. In addition to its gospel message, the local church is distinguished by its ordinances, its discipline, and its great mission.

BAPTISM AND THE LORD՚S SUPPER

We believe that Christ has instituted two ordinances, baptism and the Lord՚s Supper. Baptism by immersion represents a person՚s first public act of confession, repentance, and faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and is a tangible expression of the gospel insofar as it vividly depicts our dying, rising, and incorporation into the church. The Lord՚s Supper strengthens the faithful by visibly recalling, proclaiming, and sealing the gracious promise of forgiveness of sins and communion with God and one another.

HOLY LIVING

We believe that through both corporate and individual Christian practices, including the ministry of the Word, gathered worship, participation in baptism and the Lord՚s Supper, prayer, and other means of discipleship, we grow into our new reality as God՚s people, putting off the old self through confession and repentance and putting on the new self through the indwelling power of the Spirit.

LAST THINGS

We believe in the personal, glorious, bodily, and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ with his holy angels, when he will exercise his role as final Judge and his kingdom will be consummated. We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the just and the unjust—the unjust to eternal judgment in hell and the just to eternal blessedness in the new heaven and the new earth, the home of righteousness.

To God alone be the glory!
