Action Day Camp 2018
Posted on
This past week, Parkside Westside hosted our first-ever Action Day Camp! It was an exciting week for 25 grade-school-aged children to hear the teaching of God’s Word, get to know friends, and have a lot of fun along the way.
We started each morning with a bus ride from Lakewood to Parkside Church in Bainbridge for their annual Vacation Bible Camp (VBC) followed by an afternoon field trip in the greater Cleveland area. This year's VBC theme, “Joseph and the Mission Possible,” was a high-tech, spy adventure with a Bible focus on the connection between Joseph, ourselves, and the Lord Jesus. Our kids became Agents-In-Training and learned through energetic singing, engaging skits, and small group Bible lessons about God's sovereignty in all things. Focusing on Romans 8:28, “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose,” we learned that God’s plan has purpose and that we are a part of it! After VBC, we visited the Cleveland Zoo, drove go-carts and bumper boats, played kickball, and more, all while building relationships and having fun.
Thank you to all the adult leaders and youth helpers who helped make this week a success! Thank you to all the parents who let their kiddos join us for this first-ever Parkside Westside day camp week! And, thanks to those of you who prayed for our kids and leaders this week. Will you please continue to pray for God’s life-changing story to work its way into the lives of all who attended?
Yours in Christ,
Beth McAlvey
