Psalms 42 and 43 are one continuous poem in which the psalmist cries out to God in lament of longing. This psalm gives us permission to be honest with our feelings when we feel far from God and to take it to God. We are to lament to God when we feel far from Him. Jesus himself lamented to God from the cross. In Christ, God can answer our deepest cry for help.
