Garden Christian Academy Serving Opportunities

Posted on

One of the ministries that we support at Parkside Westside is The Garden Christian Academy, in the Clark-Fulton neighborhood of Cleveland. As we seek to make our support as meaningful as possible, our commitment of time, energy, and emotional capital is at least as important as our financial investment. As someone recently wrote, “Sometimes there’s no substitute for being there in person. Being there in the flesh communicates your willingness to pay a price, and that the one for whom you showed up is worth it to you.”

With that idea in mind, there are a number of ways that our Parkside Westside family can get involved at GCA in the coming months.

> Our community groups are providing lunch and classroom snacks for the students and staff each Wednesday until the end of the school year. Thanks to all the volunteers who are making this happen! Contact your community group leader if you want to be involved. Not part of a community group yet? Click here to find out more.

> Help prepare and serve lunch to the students and staff, then clean up afterwards. Approximately 11-1:30 any school day. Contact Amanda, the GCA lunch coordinator, at if you’re interested.

> Serve as a kindergarten classroom aide, half-day, full-day, or even for a couple of hours, any school day. Contact the Head of School at if you’re interested or have questions.

> Tutor GCA students after school, approximately 3-4 pm. High school students, this is a great way to sharpen your own skills while influencing the next generation! Contact the Head of School at if you’re interested or have questions.

> Pray regularly for the students and staff at GCA. Check out the The Garden Christian Academy website for details.

Have some other ideas in mind to help out at GCA? Just email Danielle, and she’ll be happy to talk with you.

We’re thankful for our partnership with The Garden Christian Academy, and for the work they do to change lives with the gospel, one student and family at a time.
