Read a Book, Start a Conversation

It might be the middle of summer, but there's still time to read one more good book before Labor Day arrives and we have one to recommend.
In his book, 12 Ways Your Phone Is Changing You, author Tony Reinke asks, "do you control your phone -- or, does your phone control you? With the advent of the smartphone, we have never been more connected, yet we seem to be growing more distant. The introduction of each new digital device promises more tools at fingertips to help us get more done, yet we are distracted and discontent.
Reinke, a journalist and senior writer for desiringGod.org, connects the dots between published studies, his own research, and the insights of industry thinkers to examine how smartphones have changed our lives. As the book blurb explains, "Reinke calls us to cultivate wise thinking and healthy habits in the digital age, encouraging us to maximize the many blessings, to avoid the various pitfalls, and to wisely wield the most powerful gadget of human connection ever unleashed."
If you're looking for a good book, good discussion, and good fellowship, join us for a book-club style get-together at the end of August.
